The MDSP Child Recovery Unit arrested 31-year-old Lamin Manneh, a member of the Baltimore City Police Department, and his 19-year-old wife Marissa Braun of Marbourne Avenue in Baltimore for prostitution and human trafficking.
Events unfolded yesterday when MDSP-CRU was performing regular duties and came across a young-looking female posting on an Internet escort website.
They were processed at the Glen Burnie Barrack and then transported to the District Court Commissioner. While Manneh is charged with both human trafficking and prostitution, Braun is charged with one count of prostitution.
The FBI’s Child Exploitation Task Force worked with CRU and arranged a meeting with the female at a Baltimore hotel. There they met and identified Braun. It's believed she had been working for her alleged husband Manneh. Manneh was then interviewed and placed under arrest.
During that encounter, MDSP learned Manneh is a member of the Baltimore City Police Deptartment. Manneh is still in the probationary period, so even though there will be an investigation and he is suspended without pay, officials say he will most likely be fired.
