BALTIMORE - Baltimore City police are investigating two overnight shootings, one of them fatal.
Police said around 1:46 a.m. officers were called to the 1300 block of Lakewood Avenue in East Baltimore for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived they found Darrien Jackson, 22 bleeding from a gunshot wound. Jackson was taken to Johns Hopkins where he died at 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning.
The shooting death was followed by another shooting across town in northwest Baltimore. Police said around 3:40 a.m. a 24-year-old man walked into Sinai Hospital after being shot in the elbow. The victim told police that he was walking in the 3900 block of Bonner Road when he was approached by two armed men who tried to rob him. When the victim took off running, the men shot at him hitting him in the elbow.
Police have no suspect descriptions for either incident.
