BALTIMORE - Although it's been nearly a year since the disappearance of Phylicia Barnes, Maryland State Police in partnership with the Baltimore Police Department, are still actively investigating her murder.
The North Carolina teen was visiting family in Baltimore last December when she went missing.
Several months later, on April 20th, her body was found in the Susquehanna River in Harford County.
After an autopsy was completed, her death was ruled a homicide, but the cause of her death has not been released yet.
No charges have been filed yet, and no arrests have been made for her disappearance or death, but investigators say they have worked the case continually, and that they have made progress.
Details about the progress in the case are not being released yet, because detectives believe it could affect the investigation.
They will say they have re-interviewed family and friends, reviewed evidence, and conducted forensic examinations.
Police still encourage anyone with information about the murder, to call them immediately at 1-855-223-0033 or 410-653-4200.
