BALTIMORE - Authorities believe an 11- year-old shot late Monday night will survive. The 30-year-old man shot at the same time has died.
They were shot blocks from the campus of Coppin State University in West Baltimore.
It happened around 9:30 on Bentalou Street near North Avenue.
Officers have stepped up foot patrols in that area because of the increasing violence.
Homicide detectives were called in because of the severity of the man's gunshot wounds. There is no word this morning on his condition.
Two suspects were taken into custody and charged with first degree murder, among other charges. The suspects are identified as 21-year-old John Knox and 37-year-old Joseph Oglesby.
