BALTIMORE (WMAR) -

A Baltimore man will spend the next 30 years in prison after being convicted of beating his 5-year-old daughter to death.

Matthew Carr was sentenced to 30 years in prison yesterday for his role in a child abuse case that resulted in a death.

Police say it happened in February in a house on Callaway Avenue. Officers responded to a 911 call from the house from a man saying that his daughter was in the bathtub and not breathing.

Maya Carr was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. While at the hospital doctors found several injuries on Maya that lead detectives back to Matthew.
