BALTIMORE (WMAR) -

A man is dead after being shot several times on Thanksgiving afternoon while sitting on a baseball field bench.

Baltimore City Police say they responded to calls of a shooting in the 2000 block of North Forest Park Road in the southwest area of the city.

Once officers arrived on the scene, they found 22-year-old Antoine Ellis, shot several times in his upper body.

Ellis was rushed to an area hospital where he later died.

The preliminary information suggests that Ellis was shot by an unknown person while standing near a bench located in the baseball field.

Anyone with any information is asked to call police at 410-396-2100.
