BALTIMORE - Tyrone Moore was sentenced to 147 months in prison for his involvement in a carjacking.
According the the evidence presented during the 8 day trial, on November 25, 2007, Moore, accompanied by two others, pointed a gun at the owner of a Jeep Grand Cherokee who had parked his car near the intersection of E. 39th Street and Hadley Square West in Guilford.
The victim had been talking with another person when Moore demanded that he give him the keys to the Jeep.
The victim tossed his keys to Moore, who quickly drove away in the Jeep. Harford County Sheriff's Deputies found the Jeep on December 7, 2007 in the Perrywood Gardens apartment complex.
In it was clothing with Moore's DNA on them, and fingerprints on the door.
According to court documents, Moore was a member of the Crips gang, and he admitted that at today's sentencing hearing.
Moore will serve 12 years in prison followed by 5 years supervised release on charges of conspiracy, carjacking and using a firearm during a crime of violence.
