Four shot as gunmen open fire

Four people were wounded Friday night in West Baltimore, one critically, when gunmen in a dark colored van opened fire at the intersection of Bloom and McCulloh Streets, before speeding off, police said.

 

According to police, the shooting occurred Friday about 7:10 p.m. as the victims were sitting at a residence at 300 Bloom Street. The most seriously wounded was an unidentified victim, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds in the chest and arm. He is listed in critical condition at a local hospital. The others wounded were a 17-year-old African-American teenager, who was shot in the torso and arm; a 15-year-old African-American, who was wounded in lower leg; and a 34-year-old African-American man, who was wounded in the arm.

 

Preliminary information is that several suspects occupying a dark colored van stopped in front of the group of victims who were sitting in front of a residence.  The suspects suddenly opened fire, before fleeing in the van.

 

Police said they have no motive in the shooting and that all victims are being treated at local hospitals.  The Central District Detective Unit is investigating and can be reached at 410-396-2240 for anyone with information about this crime.
