BALTIMORE (AP) -- Federal authorities are seeking access to email and Facebook accounts -- including accounts bearing the name of slain North Carolina teen Phylicia Barnes -- as part of a child pornography and sexual exploitation of children investigation.
Applications for search warrants filed by an FBI special agent were unsealed last month, but related affidavits remain sealed.
Barnes went missing in December while visiting siblings in Baltimore and her body was found in April. Her death was ruled a homicide.
The applications seek access to three email accounts that include Barnes' first name and a Facebook account in her name and linked to accounts in her relatives' names. The Baltimore Sun reports that they also seek access to four accounts that appear to be associated with men with Baltimore ties.
