BALTIMORE (WMAR) - A dog attacked a woman outside of the Waverly Farmers Market over the weekend.

Witnesses say the dog, a rottweiler, was left tied to a parking meter.  The animal broke loose and went after the woman.

She was taken to Union Memorial Hospital to be treated for bites on her left arm and leg.  She also had her face scraped.

The dog owner was issued citations by both police and animal control workers.

The rottweiler was originally released to the owner, but then taken into custody of animal control pending a hearing.
