BALTIMORE, Md. - The Baltimore Police Department Wednesday evening identified the officers involved in the death of Mr. Anthony Anderson , who died last month while being arrested in East Baltimore.
The three officers, all members of the Violent Crime Impact Section, are Detective Gregg Boyd, Detective Michael Vodarick and Detective Todd Strohman. All three have been placed on administrative leave pending an independent criminal investigation into the incident.
Upon conclusion, detectives will present their findings to the Baltimore States Attorney for prosecutorial review. Charging decision on whether this was a legally justified or unjustified homicide will be rest with the States Attorney.
The State Medical Examiner's office ruled that Anderson, 42, died of blunt force trauma. Police had initially said that Anderson died after swallowing drugs after being placed into custody.
