BALTIMORE -
Authorities say an actress who appeared on the HBO series "The Wire" is among 64 people charged as part of a joint state-federal prosecution of a large east Baltimore drug gang.
Police say Felicia "Snoop" Pearson, who played a killer of the same name on the hit television series, is among 38 arrested in early morning raids carried out by about 450 federal, state and local officers Thursday. Authorities are still working to arrest the remaining 25. Pearson is charged with conspiring with two other men to distribute heroin and aiding and abetting in state court.
Commissioner Frederick Bealefeld says officers seized $69,000 in cash, four guns, marijuana and heroin in "Operation Usual Suspects."
A federal indictment charges more than 15 people with conspiracy to distribute drugs.
