Surveillance photos released in Arnold post office mugging

Investigators with the Anne Arundel County Police Department have released surveillance photos of who they believe is the suspect in the mugging of a 64-year-old woman that took place earlier this week.

The incident took place at the Arnold post office. The woman was thrown to the ground, and her purse was stolen.

"She (suspect) started tugging on her purse, and she (victim) fell to the ground," said Anne Arundel County Police Department spokesman Justin Mulcahy. "She (suspect) got into a car and sped off down Church Road."

Those living around the post office say the area is safe, and that hearing of such an incident is outside of the norm.

The suspect is described as a black female, approximately 5-foot-2 with a medium build and dyed red hair. She was wearing a black jacket and blue jeans with holes in them.
