Shooting suspect turns himself in

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WMAR) - A Shady Side man turned himself in today after police say he shot another man yesterday evening.

Just after 6:00 p.m. Monday, officers responded to the 1000 block of Friendship Lane in West River for reports of a shooting. Officers found a 56-year-old man lying on the ground in front of a house suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower extremity.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect fled the scene in a maroon SUV. Detectives identified the suspect as 22-year-old Danny Gay, Jr. yesterday.

Gay turned himself into the Anne Arundel County Sheriff's Office early this afternoon. Charges are pending.
