HANOVER, Md. - A security guard at Arundel Mills mall is charged with stealing jewelry and money from a mall kiosk, police say.
On Sunday officers were called to the mall at around 11 a.m. after an employee at the Gold Rush kiosk discovered the theft. Officers worked with mall security and were able to track down security footage and a witness which helped them develop John Thomas Cook IV, a guard at the mall, as a suspect.
The next day officers executed a search warrant of Cook's home in Millersville. Inside they found jewelry and cash belonging to Gold Rush.
Cook was arrested and charged with theft. Police say charges are also pending against a second suspect.
An investigation is ongoing.
