Police looking for those responsible in theft from Boys and Girls Club

A group devoted to helping children in Annapolis is dealing with a devastating burglary.

TVs and laptops used every day by the kids who come to the Boys and Girls Club were taken overnight.

When you walk into the Boys and Girls Club of Annapolis, you’re greeted by a sign that says “play fairly and be honest.” That’s not what happened over the weekend.

Reginald Broddie is the director of the Boys and Girls Club. He says 14 laptops were stolen along with two televisions – one of the TVs a 46-inch flat screen. The total value of everything stolen is about $15,000.

“Who knows what is in the mind of someone who would be as cunning and calculating to make a decision to go into a youth-focused environment and take away the many things that they know helps these young people move forward,” Broddie said.

The director has a message for the person or group of people responsible.

“We would hope you could find in your heart to return the stuff or simply just tell us why, and we could take it from there.”
