One shot, three stabbed at graduation party

SEVERN, Md. - A 17-year-old boy was shot and four others were stabbed at a high school graduation party in Severn on Saturday night.

According to Anne Arundel County police just before 1:00am officers were called to the 7800 block of Citadel Drive in Severn for a report of a loud party. As officers responded they got additional calls about shots fired from the same party.

When police arrived they found a found a 17-year-old male who had been shot in the lower extremity. He was taken to Shock Trauma with non-life threatening injuries.

While on the scene officers also found several partygoers suffering from non-fatal stab wounds. A  20-year-old man was taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center; two additional victims, a 19-year-old male and a 21-year-old male were treated at  Howard County General Hospital and information was received on a fifth victim, a 16-year-old male, at Baltimore Washington Medical Center, who was struck in the upper body with an unknown object.

A preliminary investigation indicates that at some point during the party, several people behind the house started a fight, which eventually made its way to the front of the residence, where witnesses heard gun shots.

Detectives from the Western District Detectives Unit are actively investigating this incident. The investigation is ongoing.
