Man wanted in murder to turn himself in

BALTIMORE (WMAR) -
An Annapolis man wanted for a double shooting that left one person dead and topped the Most Wanted list has announced that he will turn himself in to police tomorrow.
According to his attorney, Clarence Eugene Johnson III is wanted in connection with the December double shooting that left one person dead and another in critical condition will voluntarily surrender to authorities Wednesday afternoon.
Johnson is expected to turn himself into Annapolis Police at 3:30 p.m., according to G. Andrew Cochran, the Annapolis attorney representing him.
Cochran said that Johnson made the decision to turn himself in after learning that he was one of Annapolis' Most Wanted and seeing his face all over the local news.
Johnson wants to defend himself against the charges, Cochran said.
"There is a presumption of innocence in this country. Every person has the right to confront his accusers," said Cochran. "And Clarence Johnson fully intends to exercise his constitutional rights. He wants his day in court."
