MILLERSVILLE, Md. (WMAR) - Anne Arundel County Police have found James Zito, the man they say stabbed his mother multiple times.

Zito was arrested without incident at the Glen Burnie Mall.

Numerous patrol officers had searched for the suspect after responding to the 700 block of Stacy Oak Way in Millersville for reports of family violence.

At the home police found a 54-year-old woman suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Preliminary police investigations found that Zito had become violent and had restrained two family members before stabbing his mother several times in the upper body.

Zito then fled on foot toward the back of the residence, then toward Red Birch Road.

She was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The case is still under investigation.
