Man shot and later arrested at hospital

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WMAR) - Annapolis Police were working hard early Saturday morning after they received calls about a man who had been shot and walked into a local hospital.

When officers arrived to the Anne Arundel Medical Center, they found 31-year-old Cory Lamar Johnson of the 900 Block of Royal Street suffering from a gunshot wound in the right hand.

Detective Amy Miguez, spokesperson for the Annapolis Police Department, says that Johnson told officers that he was shot while on Hicks Avenue and Dorsey Avenue.

Detectives believe that the victim had been approached by two men who attempted to rob him.

Miguez says that Johnson had a bench warrant and was arrested after treatment at the hospital.
