BROOKLYN PARK, Md. - Authorities say a 30-year-old man has been shot and killed in Brooklyn Park.

Anne Arundel County police say they found a man suffering from a gunshot injury to his upper torso after being called to Edgevale Road about 12:30 a.m. Friday for a report of a shooting. Police say the victim, 30-year-old Eric Javonn Hill, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Officials say detectives have determined that an acquaintance was getting into Hill's car when they were approached by three males, one of whom showed a handgun and demanded money. At that time, the car accelerated for an unknown reason and the armed male shot Hill.

Police said all three suspects, described as teenagers, fled on foot toward Old Riverside Road.
