ANNAPOLIS, Md. - A 23-year-old Annapolis man is in police custody, charged with robbing a pregnancy center at gunpoint.
It happened at around 10:13 a.m. Wednesday at the Birthright Pregnancy Center located in the 600-block of Ridgely Avenue.
Employees of the center told police the suspect, later identified as Richard Glenn Parker, came in asking for help getting items for his kids.
As the employees were gathering items for Parker, they say he suddenly pulled out a handgun. He then demanded everyone hand over their money and purses.
Parker then took off on foot.
An officer on scene noticed Parker running into a nearby wooded area. After a brief foot chase, they were able to catch Parker and take him into custody.
Parker is charged with two counts of armed robbery, two counts of robbery, and two counts of first-degree assault.
