PASADENA, Md. (WMAR) - Anne Arundel County Police have arrested and charged Barry Wayne Williams Jr., after they say he barricaded himself in a home and fired a shot.
Just after 5:00 p.m., officers responded to the 8000 block of Bussenius Road in Pasadena for a report of a suicidal subject. When en route witnesses reported that Williams had discharged a firearm.
Once on the scene, officers found Williams in the driveway, but ran into his house and refused to come out.
Witnesses told police that he was extremely distraught and discharged a handgun inside of his garage and in his backyard. The subject then began driving erratically around his yard and striking things around his property with his vehicle prior to the arrival of officer.
Negotiators attempted to establish verbal and phone communication with the subject over a period of several hours. At about 10:18 p.m., Williams exited his residence and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Williams was charged with two counts of reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct, discharging a firearm within 100 yards of an occupied dwelling and resisting arrest.
