EDGEWATER, Md. - Anne Arundel County police are crediting a 15-year-old boy from stopping a burglary in Edgewater while almost getting stabbed in the process.
Police said the teen reported around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday seeing a male stealing a FedEx package from the front steps of his home, located in the 900 block of Holly Ave., before running away with the package.
The victim told police he chased the suspect down, tackled him, which caused him to drop the package. Police said the suspect then displayed a knife, attempted to cut the victim, but only caused damage to the victim's pants.
The suspect then ran away without the package, traveling on Severn Avenue toward Third Avenue, police said. Police described the suspect as a white male, approximately 6-foot-3 with a muscular build. He was last seen wearing all black clothing and black face mask.
