ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WMAR) -
Annapolis Police have arrested and charged a man for the burglary of the Boys and Girls Club with the help of an anonymous tipster.
With the help of the tipster, police were able to identify Akeem Howard, 18, as a suspect in the February burglary at the Boys and Girls Club at Admiral Oaks.
On February 19 a burglary was reported in which more than $15,000 worth of electronics were stolen from the club.
The tipster told police that Howard was bragging about committing the burglary and offering laptops for sale. Howard was questioned and admitted to trying to steal laptops, but denied being involved in the burglary.
Howard was charged with second degree burglary, fourth degree burglary, theft over $10,000 to under $100,000, theft over $1,000 to under $10,000, and conspiracy to commit third degree burglary, fourth degree burglary, and theft over $10,000 to under $100,000.
Howard was released from the Jennifer Road Detention Center at bail review. Detectives are seeking the identity of a second subject involved in the burglary.
