EDGEWATER, Md. - Anne Arundel County Fire Department officials are investigating a fire they believe was intentionally set Monday night in Edgewater.
The fire was first reported around 10 p.m. as units were dispatched to a home in the 400 block of Highland Drive. According to a news release, the first arriving unit reported a fire on the front porch of home that had been extinguished.
Crews immediately recognized the fire was intentionally set and requested fire investigation be dispatched to the scene. Investigators then determined it was arson and the home was targeted. The home suffered approximately $8,000 in damage. No injuries were reported.
