Armed robber leaves empty handed

EDGEWATER, Md. -  

A man tried to hold up a gas station with a knife Sunday morning but left the store empty handed, police said.
 
Anne Arundel County police are looking for a man who threatened the clerk at the Xtra Mart Fuel in the 3000 block of Solomons Island Road with a knife and demanded money. The clerk was unable to comply and the man fled south on Solomons Island Road in an unknown vehicle. 
 
Police describe the suspect as a thin white man in his early 20’s wearing a dark hooded jacket. Police said he also wore a dark bandana that covered his mouth and chin. 
 
Several units, including a K-9 unit canvassed the area but were unable to find the suspect.
 
Police are investigating.
