3 teenaged girls charged in arson

EDGEWATER, Md. (WMAR) -  

Three teenaged girls have been charged for setting a boat on fire in Edgewater. 
 
Anne Arundel County Fire Investigators have charged two 12-year-old females and one 13-year-old female for setting the fire on Tuesday, January 22. 
 
At about 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, firefighters responded to the 1000 block of Old Turkey Point Road for reports of a boat fire. Once crews arrived, the boat was fully involved between two homes. 
 
It took 29 firefighters about 20 minutes to bring the flames under control. The investigation revealed that the fire had been incendiary in nature and the estimated damage is $10,000. 
 
All three girls have been charged as juveniles with malicious burning in the first and second degree, reckless endangerment and false statement to a police officer. They were all released into their parent's custody.
