MARYLAND CITY, Md. (WMAR) - Anne Arundel County Police are looking for two suspects who broke into two elderly women's homes, while they were home.

At about 3:40 a.m., officers responded to the 200 block of Elkton South for a report of a burglary that had just occurred. The 91-year-old female victim reported that she awoke to a suspect shining a flashlight in her face.

The suspect then left the woman's bedroom. The woman checked her home and found that her medicine cabinets in her bathrooms had been rifled through, but nothing had been taken.

About 10 minutes later, officers responded to the 200 block of Sharptown South for a report of intruders inside a residence. Officers were told that a male residence was fighting with two suspects inside the residence.

Shortly before officers arrived, the suspects fled the residence. The investigation revealed that the 74-year-old female resident awoke to a male suspect with a flashlight in her bedroom and tried to take her purse. The woman grabbed the intruder and began screaming, which alerted her son, who ran into the room and began to fight with the suspect.

The suspect broke free and ran out of the house.

A second suspect also came into the house and was involved in an altercation with the male resident. That suspect also fled the residence.

The first suspect was described as a black male with short hair and a muscular or stocky build and wearing all dark clothing. The second was described as a black male with a bald head and wearing dark clothing.
