KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Two people were injured in a high-speed police chase that started in Kansas City, Mo., and ended after a crash with another vehicle in a residential neighborhood in Kansas City, Kan. Officers from both cities took part in the pursuit.

The chase went from westbound Interstate 70 to a shopping center and through several quiet streets until the white Nissan Pathfinder ricocheted off the other vehicle and into a tree. The driver, who police say is a suspect in a series of burglaries, went the wrong way on several roads and exceeded speeds of 90 mph.

The chase started at I-70 and Broadway around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. The suspect was taken down by several officers 20 minutes later near 52nd and Georgia. Two people were taken into custody.

The mother of the other driver hit during the chase rushed to the scene after hearing the news.

"He just left my house. I was upstairs asleep, and then Big Mike called and told me my son was in an accident and seen him on TV," Lendr Roston said. "So I jumped up immediately and came up here to rescue my baby."

We have a crew on the scene. Stay with KSHB.com for updates.
