BEL AIR, Md. - A 16-year-old student at C. Milton Wright High School was arrested and charged as an adult this week on gun charges.
The student was identified as Daniel Hill, of the 2100 block of Robertson Road in Bel Air. He told police that he bought the a .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun for $350 "to protect himself from 'Blood' gang members that were after him," according to court documents.
At C. Milton Wright, a resource officer said there are no documented members of the Bloods gang at the school, according Monica Worrell, spokesperson for the Harford County Sheriff's Office. The sheriff's office keeps tabs on gang members in the county.
Hill was first charged Sept. 9th as a juvenile. Three days later, because of the nature of the charges, Hill was automatically waived to adult status. A warrant issued Sept. 16 for his arrest was served Monday, when Hill was taken to the Harford County Detention Center for processing. He was released on $10,000 bail.
