Obama is selling jobs plan in Raleigh
President Barack Obama will be in Raleigh, North Carolina today to push his jobs act. He will tour a manufacturing facility and then speak at North Carolina State. Lawmakers in Washington are already fighting over the tax portions of the $447 billion bill.
Former President George W. Bush Speaks in D.C.
The Bush Institute says former President George W. Bush will deliver his first public address in Washington since leaving office. He will speak on global health at a summit his institute calls “A Summit to Save Lives.”
Bully mom heading to court
A mom shown on a YouTube clip encouraging a fight involving her son will go to court today on charged of child abuse. Kelly White can be seen forcing her son to fight even as he begs her for help. She stands over him and tells him to get up and fight like a man. Police say White has a long record of social services investigation.
Casey Anthony Lawyer joins Giordano case
Attorney Jose Baez represented Casey Anthony and is now on the defense team for Gary Giordano in Aruba. Giordano is the prime suspect in the disappearance of Robyn Gardner. The Frederick woman was last seen on August 2nd. Giordano says Gardner disappeared while the two were snorkeling.
Penn Station Turns 100
Baltimore’s Penn Station turns 100 years old today.
A celebration is planned for 11:00am.
Rare photographs and artifacts will be on display starting today and going through the end of the month. Close to 2 million passengers go through the station each year. It is Amtrak ’s 8th busiest station.
