ST. MICHAELS, Md. - For those who want to get away, there are some typical destinations: Ocean City and points to the east and Deep Creek Lake and many points to the west.
For others, they want to get off the beaten path and visit somewhere more tranquil. That's where Talbot County's St. Michaels has fit the bill.
The quaint Chesapeake Bay town has visitors from far and wide and from the average middle class family to those with large yaughts. It is a town for everyone, while also not being trampled through like most get-a-way destinations.
However, that doesn't mean the town doesn't shy away from celebrating it's location and inviting people to take part. Sunday's Watermen's Appreciation Day is an example of that.
St. Michaels also boasts some very good restaurants of all kinds and a new one has opened its doors on Talbot Street. The Big Pickle Food Bar is the creation of Chef Chad Scott who came back to Talbot County after leaving ten years ago. His latest creation is anything but the norm for him; it's a laid-back style restaurant that doesn't ever want to be a 5-star type place to eat.
ABC2 was On the Go with Wyatt Everhart in St. Michaels and to see Wyatt's take on the town and get a taste of the Big Pickle Food Bar, click on the videos to the left. We have also provided more information in the links to the left, below the video, as well.
