The Maryland Transportation Authority is trying to spread the word to motorists to plan for more crowded roads than last year for their Memorial Day weekend trips.
The MDTA is estimating traffic will jump two percent this holiday weekend with more than 1.8 million drivers expected to hit the road.
MDTA Officials are advising motorists to avoid the busiest travel hours including one of the worst times to take a drive, anytime between noon and 10 p.m. Friday.
More than 352,000 vehicles are expected to pass over the Bay Bridge, and as many as 448,000 motorists will hit some part of I-95 over the weekend.
For drivers looking for up-to-date information on Bay Bridge traffic, the MDTA recommends calling 1-877-BAYSPAN.
