Six Maryland restaurants named Best American Cuisine

Peer-to-peer reviews are becoming the popular way to get information about plumbers, landscapers, clubs, even restaurants.  An online restaurant review site has named the top 100 Best American Cuisine restaurants in the nation, and 6 of those spots are Maryland eateries.

The list is compiled by OpenTable, which looks at reviews from more than 5 million of its users at 15,000 restaurants across the country.  There are dozens of lists rating restaurants, from "Fit for Foodies" to "Best Service."

Here are the 6 Maryland restaurants that made the top 100 list for Best American Cuisine:

Charleston -- Harbor East

The Bartlett Pear -- Easton

Volt -- Frederick

Woodberry Kitchen -- Baltimore

LJ's and the Kat Lounge -- Hagerstown

The Prime Rib -- Baltimore

Reviews are submitted by users to who make a reservation through OpenTable.  Their feedback is compiled into lists that are sent out on a monthly basis.
