Baltimore, MD - Father's Day is around the corner and families may be scrambling to find a way to treat dad on his day. One simple way to treat your dad is by cooking up a feast.
While there are certainly many ways and ideas for a feast, one simple idea Chef Edd Hite has is to the perfect burger. Today on Good Morning Maryland @ 9, the Wegmans chef showed Jamie just how easy it is to make a Mushroom Swiss Burger with some flare and creativeness, without breaking the bank or causing even more stress.
To see Chef Hite put the perfect burger together, click on the video box to the left of this article. We have provided the recipe below:
Mushroom & Swiss Burger
Serves 4
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 ounces gourmet blend mushrooms, larger pieces cut
2 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
1 pound 80% lean ground beef
1/2 cup shredded Grand Cru Surchoix Gruyere cheese
4 Super Soft Vienna Rolls, split and toasted
2 tablespoons mayonnaise, divided
2 tablespoons Wegmans Savory Finishing Sauce or steak sauce, divided
4 red or green leaf lettuce leaves
Heat olive oil in large skillet on medium. Cook mushrooms 1 min; add garlic. Cook, stirring occasionally, about 10 minutes. Set aside to cool.
Combine ground beef, mushrooms and cheese; form into 4 burgers.
Preheat grill on high 10 minutes. Clean grill with wire brush. Using soft cloth, coat grill grate lightly with vegetable oil.
Sear burgers on grill 2 minutes, until they have changed color about one-quarter of way up from bottom. Turn over; sear 2-3 minutes. Turn again; reduce heat to medium –low. Close lid.
Cook burgers to desired doneness. Transfer to clean platter.
Spread half of roll with 1/2 tablespoon mayonnaise and lettuce; top with burger and 1/2 tablespoon Finishing or steak sauce. Close with other roll half.
