BALTIMORE - Chef Thomas Dunklin with B&O Brasserie Restaurant joined Megan and Charley in the kitchen on Good Morning Maryland at Nine with an quick and easy shrimp recipe you're family is sure to love.

The recipe is provided below:

Ginger BBQ Shrimp
(2 to 4 portions)

5T olive oil
½ C chopped onions
5T minced garlic
¼ lemongrass stalk
¼ cilantro (bunch)
¼ C lime juice
¼ C sliced ginger
¼ C green onion
7ea bay leaves
¼ C lemon juice
5 C water
1C Worcestershire sauce
1C soy sauce
½ bot ginger beer
1 lb shrimp heads
¼ T creole spice
½ lb Whole Shrimp
1C cream
¼ lb butter

  • Sauté onions in oil on very high heat.
  • Cook for 5 minutes.
  • Add garlic and toast.
  • Add Creole spice and toast.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer for 45 min.
  • Strain and reduce sauce to a syrup.
  • Season whole shrimp with 2T Creole spice and course black pepper.
  • Heat sauté pan with 2T oil and get smoking hot.
  • Add shrimp and cook on each side for 1 minute.
  • Add syrup and reduce until thick. Then add cream and reduce it until it is thick, reduce to about half.
  • Finish with butter and garnish with sliced onions.
