Protest planned, city rec centers closing

They are a safe haven for many inner city kids who don't have one.
But on Saturday, several rec centers in Baltimore will be shutting down for good.
It isn't sitting well with some. And on Friday night, they plan to protest the closures.
The protest is being organized by the "Save our recs... Save our city" coalition.
Organizers are calling it a symbolic funeral march and prayer vigil. They've started a movement this summer to get people to stand up against the closures and the city leaders who are making the decisions.
Doc Cheatham, the former NAACP president for Baltimore along with several local pastors will be among the guest speakers.
The protest is planned for 7:30 Friday night at the Mary Rodman Rec center on West Mulberry Street.
