Bob Marley: Parasite named after reggae legend

KINGSTON, Jamaica - Usually if someone called you a little blood-sucking parasite, they'd be fighting words, for sure.
But an Arkansas State University marine biologist insists it's an honor that he has named a little critter after Jamaican reggae legend Bob Marley.
The parasite was discovered off the U.S. Virgin Islands about a decade ago.
It infests fish that live on coral reefs in the Caribbean.
Just recently Paul Sikkel decided to name it after Marley as a tribute to the singer who died in 1981.
It isn't the first time that a celebrity has been "honored" by having a creature named after them.
Not too long ago, scientists named a bug after Beyonce after they decided it was bootylicious -- and thought that would be a fitting tribute for the singer.
