BALTIMORE - If you have a good number of friends and chat with them several times a day you can now make money off them, by talking up some businesses.

Smart Money Magazine says Hertz is one of many companies now giving bigger discounts the more Facebook friends you can convince to like them.

For instance, you get $15 off a car rental for liking Hertz' Facebook page, but $25 off if you get a friend to like Hertz too.

Many companies are following in line, saving you money by convincing your friends.
