Shrek holds on to beat Greek and Killers at the box office

'Shrek Forever After' kept its hold on the weekend box office, taking in just over $25 million dollars to win first place.

It beat out the number 2 movie, 'Get Him to the Greek,' by more than $8 million.

The Russell Brand comedy earned almost $17.5 million. The week's number 3 movie, the Ashton Kutcher-Katherine Heigl action comedy 'Killers,' earned just over $16 million.

This week's other new movies, 'Marmaduke' and 'Splice' finished sixth and eighth.

Last week's new movies, 'Prince of Persia' and 'Sex and the City 2,' finished fourth and fifth, earning $13.9 million and $12.6 million respectively.
