Mariah Carey's extravangant "push" present

NEW YORK - Heard of "push presents?"

If not, here's a hint.

Mariah Carey got one -- a $12,000 pink diamond and sapphire necklace from her hubby Nick Cannon.

Another hint - it was engraved with the names of their twins, Moroccan and Monroe.

Apparently it's become common among some well-off people for new dads to give new moms a little somethin'-somethin' for making that happen.

Some women have gotten rings that cost six figures, and one of "The Real Housewives of Orange County" got a Bentley for her efforts in the delivery room.

Meanwhile most moms would be happy to get a hot meal and a few hours of sleep -- a growing number of women say they expect some kind of trinket for producing an heir.

In 2007 the web site BabyCenter.com surveyed 30,000 women and found 38 percent of new moms got a push present -- and 55 percent of the still-pregnant wanted one.
