Business traveling and leaving child

Baltimore - I’m just three days away from heading to the west coast.  I’ve got a lot of packing to do, and a third grader looking at me with glassy eyes and a pouting mouth.  It’s kind of hard being excited knowing that she’s going to cry and be miserable Sunday when I get on that plane.  I’ve promised souvenirs and treats, but that doesn’t seem to be soothing her too much.

It’s interesting with little girls, at least mine that daddy can leave town for business all the time and I’m not supposed to go anywhere without her.  I’m sure she’ll be fine, but I’ll have to make sure my husband comes up with special activities and gives her a little t-l-c while I’m away.

Over the next few days I will spend as much mommy time as possible and try to contain my excitement of my trip.   That shouldn’t be too difficult.  I still have so much work to do, but once it’s done, I can think ahead to the sunny skies of Los Angeles.
