According to People magazine, the "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" actor met "Cheers" star Perlman in 1970, backstage at one of his off-Broadway performances.
In two weeks, Perlman had moved in, the magazine says, and they married 11 years later while on a lunch break from the TV series "Taxi." The comedy, which ran from 1978 to 1983, was just one of their working projects together, including 1996's "Matilda."
