Sofia Vergara freezing her eggs

Actress SOFIA VERGARA has begun the process of freezing her eggs to boost her chances of conceiving later in life.

The Modern Family star, 40, is already mom to her 20-year-old son Manolo, from her first marriage, but she is now looking to the future as she plans her wedding to her fiance Nick Loeb.

The Colombian beauty revealed the big news during a recent interview for the upcoming edition of Vogue magazine, telling a reporter, "I have to be careful what I eat because they're freezing my eggs!"

She has been taking hormone pills to improve the success rate of the process, explaining, "They want to get as many eggs as they can because usually you produce them but they're not good. They have to be perfect, perfect, perfect ones."

The news won't come as a surprise to fans - last year (12), Vergara admitted she was seriously considering freezing her eggs because she wasn't ready to start a family with Loeb.

She said, "I guess I am going to think about freezing my eggs... Nick wants babies. Imagine me, again with a baby, when Manolo is 20! I guess eventually I'll do it - for love."
