R&B star LAURYN HILL has pleaded guilty to failing to file her tax returns from 2005 to 2007.
Prosecutors in New Jersey filed three counts against the Doo Wop (That Thing) hitmaker earlier this month (Jun12) amid allegations she owed more than $1.6 million in back taxes.
Hill recently addressed the claims, insisting she needed the funds to "sustain" her family during a "period of crisis", but on Friday (29Jun12) the former Fugees singer appeared in court to face the charges, admitting she "intentionally and willingly" neglected to file her financial papers, according to TMZ.com.
If convicted, Hill faces up to three years in jail and a $75,000 fine.
She was released on bail and is due to be sentenced in November (12).
