Questions about the state of ROBERT PATTINSON and KRISTEN STEWART's romance following a brief summer (12) split were the most asked online in 2012, according to a new poll.

Ask.com bosses have released their top celebrity search terms and questions, based on more than 100 million queries, and more people wanted to know about the state of the Twilight lovers' relationship than any other celebrity event.

'Will Rob and Kristen get back together?' was the top trending question of 2012, followed by 'Was Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise's marriage fake?' and 'What does Gangnam Style mean?'

Pattinson and Stewart split after the actress confessed to an "indiscretion" with her Snow White & the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders. They reconciled shortly before promotional work began on the final Twilight film, Breaking Dawn - Part 2.
