KIM KARDASHIAN has blamed online pranksters for causing uproar by faking a "disturbing" tweet from the socialite about Nigeria.
The reality TV star, who visited the country for the first time in February (13), came under fire after a strange message branding Nigeria "disgusting" popped up online this week (beg25Mar13).
The note was made to look as if it had come from Kardashian's Twitter.com account, but has now been exposed as a fake.
In a series of posts on her real Twitter account, the star writes, "I see there's a photo shopped (sic) tweet floating around, supposedly something I said about Nigeria. That was NOT me, or my feelings. That fake tweet is very disturbing & I would never ever tweet something like that..."
An Internet prankster has since claimed responsibility for the stunt.
