Actress HILARY SWANK has dropped a legal battle with bosses of a Californian electronics company after she accused them of using her photos in unauthorised advertisements.

The Million Dollar Baby star filed suit against executives of Robert's Home Audio and Video in May (12), claiming they had used her name and image in promotional materials without her permission.

However, Swank filed documents at Los Angeles Superior Court asking a judge to dismiss the case and the lawsuit was dropped on 19 July (12), according to TMZ.com.

Robert Yates, lawyer for Robert's Home Audio and Video, insists Swank simply decided against pursuing the legal action. He says, "It's a lot of bother for very little potential benefit."
