By Lindsey Hunter Lopez, Special to CNN - Critically acclaimed chanteuse Adele is receiving yet another accolade: The Brit's hit album "21" has earned the year's highest certification to date.

According to a press release, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has awarded the singer a quadruple-platinum plaque for the album. (Platinum status is earned by selling one million units, by the way.)

Since its February release, "21" has been flying off the shelves - it was certified platinum by March.

The single "Someone Like You" in itself actually reached double-platinum status; the song has sold more than two million U.S. downloads.
